The Knoxville Farmer’s Market continues today on the west side of the downtown square. The market also frequently hosts live musical performances. Organizer Judy Kinney says that when people attend the farmer’s market, they support a community effort.
“It supports a community within the community. All the people here do this for extra money, and for some, it is their income. It’s really useful to have people come in and enjoy. Everything here is either made or produced by us.”
Everything sold at the Knoxville farmer’s market was grown or produced within 50 miles of Knoxville. Those who are interested in selling products at the market can pick up an application on site. The market runs throughout the summer on Tuesdays from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to noon.
