The search for a new Knoxville city manager continues. City Clerk Tricia Kincaid tells KNIA/KRLS News that the field of applicants has been narrowed from 40 to eight, and city council will soon conduct interviews with those eight applicants. These applicants were selected by the city’s recruiting firm.

Kincaid says the timeline of naming a new city manager is to be determined, but the initial projection in January was six to nine months.
