A warrant for the arrest of a Des Moines man has been served after he allegedly committed multiple felonies in Knoxville on Sunday. Around 1:00 p.m., Knoxville officers responded to the report of a domestic assault in the 1800 block of Delores Street. The victim stated to officers that 24-year-old Michael Edward Morris Williams stopped by to drop off their infant son.

During the exchange, Williams found out there was someone else in the apartment, and tried to force his way in despite the victim telling him not to. Williams then allegedly grabbed and threw the victim across the room. The victim took the child to hide in a hallway. The defendant found and punched the victim in the face, took the child, and left.

A warrant for Williams’ arrest was served Tuesday. He faces charges of Burglary 2nd Degree, a Class C felony, and Domestic Abuse Assault 3rd or subsequent offense, a Class D felony. A no-contact warrant was issued. Bond is set at $15,000, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 8th.
