A Pella woman will spend the rest of her life in the Iowa Correctional Institution for Women in Mitchellville after she was officially sentenced for the killing of Tracy Mondabaugh.

Michelle Boat, 56, was convicted of First Degree Murder, which carries an automatic life sentence without parole. A hearing was held Thursday afternoon in Marion County District Court, in which Boat was ordered to pay the family of Mondabaugh $150,000 in restitution. The State of Iowa has 30 days to file damages, and Boat has 30 days to appeals to the Iowa Supreme Court.
