Construction has progressed on the City of Indianola Square Reconstruction Project over the last several weeks, since a groundbreaking ceremony in mid-June. Construction crews have started tearing out the street on Salem between Buxton and Howard this week, after working on the storm sewer in the area torn up over the last week and half.

When the streets are being torn up, there may be a slight internal vibration but the construction manager does not anticipate any damage to buildings from the vibration. Beginning next week, there will be temporary closures of sidewalks on Salem Ave. The construction company will work with affected businesses to minimize any impact. Businesses will receive notification one week prior to any disruption to their business.

Signage has been posted on Buxton and Salem to inform the public of square access points, as well as indicating the businesses that can be reached by each access point.
