pleasantville-3

Pleasantville’s softball squad’s regular season ended after sweeping Ogden Thursday, and their resilience is what led them to a 17-19 record on the year.

The Trojans struggled against non-conference opponents going up against powerhouses like Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, Bondurant-Farrar, and Twin Cedars. However, it was Pleasantville’s tremendous play in the West Central Conference that helped them finish tied for third with Earlham with a 15-5 record. Coach Jan Haugen tells KNIA Sports that he was impressed with how his team hit throughout the regular season.

Haugen also states that the combination of young players improving and seniors being leaders is what led to the record Pleasantville has right now. The Trojans will open playoff action Wednesday night, travelling to Colfax-Mingo.
