The Twin Cedars softball team won their third consecutive Bluegrass Conference Championship with a 10-0 victory over Lamoni Friday. The Sabers baseball team dropped their conference finale to Lamoni 12-0.

Grace Bailey dominated on the softball diamond to help the Sabers lock up their third straight conference title. Bailey threw just 48 pitches (only 4 balls) in six shutout innings of two-hit softball, and went 4-4 at the plate with two triples and a double. Ali Mockenhaupt went 2-4 with a triple and two RBIs and Rylee Dunkin also went 2-4 with a triple and two stolen bases. Head Coach Zack Dunkin said that the team had their eyes set on continuing this streak of winning. The Sabers are 44-1 in Bluegrass conference games in the last three years and finished the regular season this year with a 17-1 record in conference and 26-10 overall. 

Lamoni has had Twin Cedars number on the baseball field as they downed the Sabers for the sixth straight time dating back to 2018. The Sabers struggled to get the offense going as they were shutout for the second time this week. The loss dropped Twin Cedars to 13-9 on the year and 11-6 in conference play.

The Twin Cedars baseball team will travel to Albia Monday night for a single game. The Sabers softball team is off until Tuesday when they’ll host Moulton-Udell in the first round of Regional Playoffs.
