The Knoxville City Council will meet Tuesday after observing the Independence Day holiday on Monday. They will schedule a public hearing to approve a contract for a sanitary sewer lining project. The council will also discuss a letter received regarding the Knoxville Water Treatment Plant and public hearing is on the agenda to approve the sale of 705 South 7th Street. Resolutions will be also considered to approve the use of VERF funds to purchase turnout gear for the Knoxville Fire Department’s two new Battalion Chiefs, accept the Knoxville Downtown Assessment Report, and discuss and take possible action regarding a downtown design theme service proposal from Reynolds Urban Design. Additionally, the council will review a resolution of agreement and support for a special election for the imposition of a local sales and service tax in Bussey. The Knoxville City Council meeting begins at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday in the City of Knoxville council chambers.
