The Pella High and Pella Christian baseball and softball teams came together for a varsity doubleheader, and while the athletes competed on the field Wednesday, the rest of the community raised funds for Katlyn Bokhoven.
Katlyn is the 29-year-old daughter of Jodi & Kelvin Bokhoven, who recently underwent sudden and unexplained liver failure. She is currently hospitalized in Kansas City and has completed a liver transplant. Jodi says she’s thankful for how the community has come out to lift her family in a time of need.
INTERVIEW WITH BOKHOVEN (AIRED 6-30 AT 5:15 PM):
Through pledges for total combined hits, runs, & home runs combined between the two teams and both varsity games and donations made, just over $6,500 was raised to support the Bokhoven family.
