Knoxville Hospital & Clinics has announced Jared Rietveld will join their medical staff in September as a family medicine physician. A Pella native, Dr. Rietveld recently completed his residency through the Broadlawns Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program. Rietveld says he enjoys building relationships with patients, which led him to this profession.

“As a student in medical school, I was bouncing between emergency medicine, hospitalist, and family. Throughout the rotations, I realized I like connecting with my patients more, building those relationships long-term. It seems like you make more of a difference than one-time interactions. I tailored my rotations to family medicine, and really liked it.”

Dr. Rietveld holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Northern Iowa and his medical degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He will begin at Knoxville Hospital & Clinics in September. Hear more from Dr. Jared Rietveld on an upcoming In Depth.
