Simpson College Director of Athletics Marty Bell has announced the hiring of Adam Cvetich to lead the men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs as the head coach.
Cvetich takes over the helm after Tom Caccia retired at the conclusion of his eighth year leading the Storm this winter. Caccia’s student-athletes set more than 130 records in 35 events during his tenure.
Cvetich arrives to campus following a two-year stint at Augsburg University as a graduate assistant. While with the Auggies, he served as the team’s recruiting coordinator and had three individuals break school records during his time on deck.
Prior to his stay at Augsburg, Cvetich was the assistant swim coach for two seasons at Lee Williams High School in Arizona. He’s had stops at New Castle YMCA, Beaver County Aquatic Team and Riverside Aqua Club of Ellwood as an assistant coach.
In the pool, Cvetich was a four-year Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference finalist while competing at NCAA Division II Edinboro University. He finished in the conference’s top 16 all four seasons in the 400-yard individual medley and three times in the 200-yard butterfly. Cvetich tallied four scholar-athlete awards during his career.
The Ellwood City, Pennsylvania native is married to Nicole and the couple have a daughter, Avery. He is a 2013 graduate of Edinboro with a degree in music education. He obtained his Master’s in Education from Augsburg in 2021.
