Three Central College student-athletes were tabbed as Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars. Sophomores Delaney Underwood and Madison Clark were cited for the second straight year. They were joined by freshman Peyton Bytnar.

For selection, honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and compete in a prescribed number of varsity rounds. It’s the ninth time in 10 years that at least one Central player was cited and the program’s second consecutive year with three honorees. Nationwide, 1,432 players at all levels of women’s college golf were selected. Luther College and Simpson College were the only other American Rivers schools with players named.

Underwood, a biology major, has a 3.90 GPA. Also an academic all-conference honoree, she received all-conference distinction after placing ninth in the league tournament last fall. She received the team’s Maurine Timmer Most Valuable Player Award this year as well as the Most Dedicated Player Award. In 2019-20 she received the Outstanding Freshman Award and Outstanding Attitude Award.

Clark, majoring in math and computer science, has a 3.62 GPA. She is also an academic all-conference honoree and two-time letterwinner.

Bytnar, a biology major, posted a 3.96 GPA last year. She received her first varsity letter.
