Pella Christian will aim to keep taking advantage of home field in the Class 2A Regional Softball Semifinals this evening when they welcome Colfax-Mingo to town.

The Eagles survived a nine-inning clash with East Marshall Wednesday that ended on an Emma Eekhoff walk-off single; the Tigerhawks rallied in their opening round game as well, overcoming a two-run deficit in the 7th inning to topple Pleasantville Wednesday evening.

Pella Christian and Colfax-Mingo last tangled in the regular season on June 3rd, and it was advantage Eagles, who won 10-0, but the road team has won 6 of 8 heading into the Eagles’ home diamond.

Kylie Doty is the Tigerhawk to watch this evening; she’s shouldered 173.2 innings of the team’s 189 innings pitched this season with a 17-8 record and 3.06 ERA, and her bat is by far the most productive in the Colfax-Mingo lineup to the tune of 51 hits — 21 for extra bases, a .526 average, 36 runs scored and 35 runs batted in, which all lead the squad.

First pitch is scheduled on Eagle Lane for Pella Christian regional softball at 4:30 this afternoon, with coverage starting at 4:15 p.m. on 92.1 KRLS.
