The Mustangs typical softball lineup this season featured seven sophomores, and many of those Sophomores are already leaving their mark on the PCM Softball program in a big way. 

Sidney Shaver broke both of her sister Anna’s hit by pitch records. Sidney set the single season mark being hit by 10 pitches in 2020, and also got hit by pitch for the 20th time in her career to break the career hit by pitch record. Shaver’s career hit by pitch record isn’t safe though as fellow sophomore teammate Riley Johannes is right behind her with 19. Johannes set the record for doubles in a single season with 15. The 15 doubles moves Johannes to 29 career doubles, which leaves her just 8 doubles away from breaking the career doubles record. Paige Steenhoek excelled in the circle for the Mustangs this season as she notched her 100th career strikeout. Steenhoek didn’t stop there however, finishing the season with 127 career punch-outs.

PCM will look to continue building upon the success they found this season in the future, led by the many soon to be juniors who help the program bounce back in 2020.
