On Monday we begin our Top 10 Sports Stories of the 2020-21 school year series for Indianola High School, counting the top moments from all fall, winter, spring, and summer sports from the past year. Here are some great moments that stood out but did not make the list.
HONORABLE MENTION
In a must-win matchup for the Indianola football team on the road at Sioux City West, junior running back Kael Kolarik had a night for the ages, gaining 177 yards on just 13 carries, and finding his way into the endzone five times in the first half.
HONORABLE MENTION
The Indianola girls tennis squad once again showed off their skill as a team, winning the Little Hawkeye Conference regular season with a 5-0 regular season record in team matchups, and ending the season with a 12-3 overall record.
HONORABLE MENTION
The Indianola baseball team took out Des Moines East and Des Moines Roosevelt in the substate quarterfinals and semifinals respectively, before falling to #3 Johnston just one game away from the state tournament. The Indians earned a 30-11 overall record under new head coach Jon Fitzpatrick.
