The Warren County Board of Supervisors met in a special work session Tuesday. The board reviewed options for language on the upcoming ballot to expand the board from three to five members, going over the language regarding redistricting that is approved by the Iowa Secretary of State for other Iowa counties who have gone through the process. The board discussed the expansion plan of the board if approved by voters, including a priority from the board to have a mix of rural and city voters in each of the districts. The board also approved a permanent easement, dispatch comp time, and appointed an ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) work group before going into closed session to discuss legal strategy and employee reviews. After the closed session concluded, the board had a work session discussing the IT budget, the HR department, the website update project, and the creation of a redistricting committee.
