Continuing the countdown of the top ten stories of the 2020-21 school year for Pleasantville takes us to the track for the final state qualifiers of the school year.
The Trojans traveled up to West Marshall for the district final meet. The one event Pleasantville qualified in for the state tournament was the shuttle hurdle relays which were run by Sophia Mason, Kennedy Pelzer, Rayne Olson, and Danika Park. With the four girls running their best race of the year, they finished second behind PCM with a time of 1:14.70. Pelzer and Olson talked about how it felt to get the opportunity to be in the state tournament.
At Drake Stadium, the Trojans were unfortunately eliminated in the first round. However, the shuttle hurdle relay team will always remember how they defied the odds and advanced to their first state event at Pleasantville.
