There were 78 new positive cases of COVID-19 reported from July 28th to August 4th to the State of Iowa Coronavirus Database. A total of 110 are considered active and infectious, according to the Iowa Department of Public Health, the most since mid-February. Approximately 41% of residents are fully vaccinated, a percentage that has remained largely unchanged since June as demand dropped with cases at that time. As of Thursday, seven Marion County residents were hospitalized with the virus.
