After making a historic run in the middle of the past decade, the Pella football team has faced different challenges trying to find their way back to the top of Iowa High School Football.

This fall comes with new faces and a new class as the Dutch navigate life in Class 4A over the next nine weeks. Head Coach Jay McKinstrey says an overhauled offense and a lot of new faces on the line of scrimmage have been big enough hurdles to sort out in this 25th year at the helm of the program; a massive readjustment in classification statewide has made 4A football incredibly tough top to bottom for all 36 participants.

Pella opens at Norwalk on Friday, August 27th, and has an intrasquad scrimmage this Friday to collect sports drinks for the upcoming season. Hear the Dutch live on 92.1 KRLS.
