The Indianola School District is continuing work on finding a site for a new Auxiliary Building, which will host transportation, food service, facilities, and the IT department among other staff. Facilities Director Bernie Brueck tells KNIA News a study from several years ago indicated the district needed a new central office and a new auxiliary building to house a growing number of staff and equipment.

“We are trying to find a home for that as far as a location. We’ve been working on putting a blueprint together, been spending about 2-3 months on that and we’ve got a pretty good idea of what we are looking at putting there. Just trying to find a home to put the building up. We have to find a location to put our fleet of buses, and obviously with the idea of growth in the community. We are not quite there yet, but we are getting there.”

Brueck also said overall the facilities in the district are in great shape, and ready for the school year to begin.
