Work on the Indianola Downtown Square Reconstruction Project continued this past week, with the underground work of Phase 1 mostly complete. Prep work on Salem and Buxton will continue, and they are scheduled to begin replacing the pavement at the corner of Salem and B St. next week, and the intersection will be open to the public once the concrete has been poured and dried.

Once the intersection is open the work will begin on the sidewalks on Salem Ave, and the sidewalk concrete will be cut and a jackhammer will not be used to mitigate any damage to buildings. During the sidewalk reconstruction, business owners are asked to use an alternate entry, and if one does not exist to contact Absolute Construction so an appropriate strategy can be established.
