While the rest of our area football squads are having either intrasquad scrimmages or scrimmaging against another team, the Twin Cedars Football Squad is kicking off the season for real tonight in a week zero game at WACO. The Sabers were forced into a game this week due to their week one opponent, Tri-County, being unable to field as team this season. Coach Cam Parker tells KNIA/KRLS Sports, numbers are small for his team this season, with several players playing both ways, he hopes his team is conditioned for a full 48 minutes.
Last season WACO went 3-5 in the shortened season due to COVID-19 restrictions. The Warriors return most of their running game after churning up 1,201 yards and most of their receiving corps. The one question mark might be at quarterback where they lost Will Edeker, who passed for 589 yards. Kick off is scheduled for 7:00.
