PCM’s volleyball squad swept Des Moines North in straight sets Monday night, while the cross country team will have their first meet of the season today at Williamsburg.
The Mustangs’ volleyball squad got their fourth win of the season thanks to a dominant performance against the Polar Bears. PCM won three sets to none by scores of 25-16, 25-5, and 25-14. Sidney Shaver had a big night, getting 15 of PCM’s 28 assists. The Mustangs also got 28 kills, including nine from Chelsea Bird and seven from Riley Johannes. PCM’s next match will be against reigning Heart of Iowa Conference Champion Roland-Story Thursday.
The Mustangs’ cross country squad will open the season at the Williamsburg Recreation Center today. This is PCM’s first meet after their scheduled meet at Knoxville last week was cancelled due to extreme heat in the forecast. The Mustangs will be competing against 20 teams in the meet and is the only Heart of Iowa Conference team competing in the meet.
The meet at Williamsburg Recreation Center will begin at 4:30 PM.
