A Knoxville man was arrested Wednesday on felony stalking charges. On August 22nd, Knoxville officers spoke with a victim, who stated she had been stalked by 69-year-old Paul Slofkosky, an acquaintance.
The victim told investigators that for approximately two months, Slofkosky drove by and slowed down in front of the victim’s residence multiple times every day. The victim also said Slofkosky would watch the victim at local businesses, keeping his distance but always making eye contact. The victim told officers that they would barricade themselves inside their house, and occasionally put windchimes on the door handles as an extra alert.
Officers interviewed several neighbors, who confirmed Slofkosky’s presence in the area. Surveillance video from a neighbor also verified the victim’s allegations.
Slofkosky was interviewed by officers about the alleged stalking. He said he drove past the victim’s house to see if the victim had a new boyfriend, and that he would leave when he saw the victim at local businesses. Slofkosky has two prior incidents in Knoxville with the same victim, harassment and violation of a no-contact order.
Slofkosky is being held on a $5,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 9th.
