Pleasantville’s cross country squads had fifth and sixth place finishes respectively and Melcher-Dallas’ Addison Wadle placed 26th at their meet of the season in Wayne, while the football squad will travel to Interstate-35 tonight.

The Trojans’ boys finished fifth in their meet, placing ahead of Southeast Warren, Martensdale-St. Mary’s, Clarke and Moravia. Pleasantville’s top finisher was Devon Luing, who had a time of 18:59.33. The Trojans’ girls had a sixth-place finish in the meet, finishing ahead of Chariton. The girls’ top runner in the meet was Ashlyn McConnell, who had a time of 25:26.87. Melcher-Dallas’ Addison Wadle placed 26th with a time of 24:13.73. The next meet of the season for Pleasantville and Melcher-Dallas will be Tuesday as they travel to Central Decatur.

The Trojans’ football squad takes a trip to Interstate-35 for their first road game of the 2021 season. Pleasantville is coming off winning a slugfest in their opening game, 13-7 over Lynnville-Sully. The Trojans got a good performance from Dillon Ammons, who went for 144 total yards and a touchdown. Pleasantville’s defense held Lynnville-Sully to just 91 yards passing and never trailed in the game. The Trojans will try to score more on the Roadrunners, who were shut out in their first game against Southeast Valley.

The game at Interstate-35 will kick off at 7:00 PM.
