The Norwalk boys golf team returns to action Monday, traveling to Ames for an invitational. Junior Ryan Jermier says he and a few teammates played a practice round at the course last week, preparing them for a challenging course.

“Veenker is supposed to be a slightly tricky golf course, however, it’s just placement. For my practice rounds, I always take notes and get a feel for the course, look at the greens, where I want to hit it and where I don’t want to hit it, where my misses are. Proceeding toward Monday, I’ll have those shots in the bag I need to be able to hit. That’s when the low numbers come in, when you’re really dialed in going into the tournament.”

The Warriors will be part of a 16-team field, which includes conference foe Indianola and several CIML schools. First tee times are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at Veenker Memorial Golf Course in Ames.
