The community of Pella joined others across the country in remembering the 9/11 terror attacks on their 20th anniversary.

Members of Pella Fire, Pella Ambulance, and the Pella Police Department stood together for a moment of silence with their vehicle lights flashing at 8:46 a.m. Saturday — that was the time the first of the Twin Towers was struck in 2001.

On Friday night at the Pella vs. Indianola football game, Raceway Tire and Exhaust and Downey Tire pros had local veterans, service members, and first responders participate in a tire roll, raising $4,800 to be split between the Dutch and Indians’ booster clubs.
