Results are in from Tuesday’s Melcher-Dallas Community School District special election. The proposition on the ballot passed, allowing the school board to issue General Obligation Bonds not to exceed $5,725,000. The measure passed with a vote of 259-134. This will provide funds to build, furnish, and equip a new gymnasium at the junior high/high school facility, including locker rooms, athletic facilities, classrooms, and related facility improvements; and demolition of the existing gymnasium and attached classrooms.
The two vacant school board positions were filled. Dean Lewin received 248 votes, while Allen Rogers received 310 votes.
394 voters turned out for this election out of 1,319 registered voters in the four precincts.
