Approximately 25,733 individuals in Warren County have been vaccinated against COVID-19, or 50%. According to Warren County Health Services, those aged 65 and older have the highest vaccination percentage with 85.5% of all individuals fully vaccinated, which gradually declines the lower the age. All vaccination percentages are based on the total population for the eligible age group.

Warren County Health Services also put out a public service announcement regarding the purpose and creation of the vaccine.

“The vaccines protect against severe illness and death. Even though vaccinated people are getting COVID-19 with the more contagious delta variant, they have milder and shorter illnesses and are much less likely to be hospitalized or die. When someone has been vaccinated but still gets COVID-19, this is commonly referred to as a breakthrough infection.”

“It may seem like the vaccines were developed quickly, but it is important to know that they were not rushed. Around the world, tons of experts, scientists, and resources came together like never before to develop the vaccines. In addition, researchers have been studying and working with mRNA vaccines for decades.”
