Initial counts of students presented to the Pella School Board this week indicate the district has returned to pre-pandemic level of service of students.
Superintendent Greg Ebeling says while the official enrollment won’t be certified until October 1st for the upcoming budget season, all signs point to the number of full-time students currently in their buildings as being close to 2019-20.
Ebeling anticipates additional growth once other enrollment pieces are factored in, especially as metrics are showing the vast increase in students from kindergarten to higher grades, as outlined in the upcoming bond issue’s priorities.
The Pella School Board will review the official enrollment numbers in October.
