The Knoxville Football Squad heads to Fairfield tonight after playing three class 4A teams and losing all three by lopsided counts. The Panthers are coming off a 62-6 loss to Carlisle last week and hope with Fairfield, a school that is more of the Panthers size, they can compete with and hope to have a shot at a win. Coach Eric Kellar is confident his team can stick with the Trojans and have a shot at a win.
Kellar:
“Fairfield is going to be a nice matchup, they’re big and they have three guys that we’ll need to key on. That’s what we’ve been doing with our preparation.”
The three players that Knoxville will have to contain, starts with quarterback Tate Allen, who has thrown for 556 yards and rushed for another 90 with eight total touchdowns. Allen’s favorite receiver has been Max Wheaton, who has 195 receiving yards, however three other receivers have over 100 yards in the first three games. The feature running back for the Trojans is Teddy Metcalf with 177 yards in three games. Kellar adds Knoxville’s defense played well despite the score last week, but were just outmanned in most situations. Listen live on 95.3 KNIA starting at 6:30.
