Simpson College student-athlete Jenna Taylor has been named as a top-30 honoree for the 2021 NCAA Woman of the Year Award, after being nominated in August. The NCAA Woman of the Year award honors graduating female student-athletes who have distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers. Nominees meet the four pillars of the accolade: academics, athletics, service and leadership.
Taylor tells KNIA News it is an honor to be selected out of over 500 women who were nominated, and a lot of credit goes to the Simpson staff and her teammates.
Taylor is one of 10 selected from the NCAA Division III ranks after reaching this stage. The selection committee will determine the top three honorees in each division from the Top 30, and the nine finalists will be announced this fall. From those nine finalists, the NCAA Committee on Women’s Athletics will choose the 2021 NCAA Woman of the Year.
