PCM’s volleyball squad lost both of their matches in the Roland-Story tournament to BCLUW Monday, while the cross country squad will make their second trip to Williamsburg this season.
The Mustangs’ volleyball squad lost in straight sets to BCLUW for the third time this season, snapping their current two-match winning streak. PCM lost the sets 21-9 and 21-16. Sidney Shaver had eight of PCM’s nine assists in the match. The Mustangs got seven digs from Chelsea Bird and three kills from Riley Johannes.
PCM lost their second match, also in straight sets, to Ballard. The loss drops PCM to 8-17 on the season. PCM lost their set scores 21-12 and 21-18. Bird had five digs in the match for PCM. The Mustangs also got four digs from RaeAnn Duinink and five assists from Shaver. PCM will have a quick turnaround as they are back in action tonight at home against Perry. The match will begin at 7:00 PM.
The Mustangs’ cross country squad last competed at Williamsburg back on August 31 and finished eighth, ahead of Lynnville-Sully and Vinton-Shellsburg. PCM’s top runner in the last meet was Paige Steenhoek, who finished sixth overall with a time of 22:08. PCM will be going up against familiar foes including Lynnville-Sully, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, HLV, and Pella. PCM will be looking for a higher finish in this meet since they had more time to prepare than the last time they were up at Williamsburg.
The meet at the Williamsburg Recreation Center will begin at 4:30 PM.
