Central College’s department of visual and performing arts will present the 2014 Tony Award-winning musical “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder” from Oct. 7-10 in Kruidenier Theatre on Central’s campus.

Performances will be held at 7 p.m. this Thursday through Saturday and at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Directed and choreographed by C.D. Adamson, associate professor of theatre, with musical direction by Sean Stephenson, lecturer of music, “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder” is a romp filled with music, laughs and a scene-stealing role in which one actor plays all eight of the doomed heirs who meet their ends in the most creative and side-splitting ways.

The cast includes Bryson McGowan as Monty Navarro; Hannah Woerner as Miss Shingle; Kami Waymire as Sibella Hallward; Nicholas Root as the “D’Ysquith Family”; and Meredith Ackerman as Phoebe D’Ysquith. Ensemble members include Claire Ackerman, Andrea Bogaard, Jack Enright, Cody Jacobson, Brennan McGee and Vicky Riewer.

Production assignments include Ron Rybkowski, tech director, set and lighting design; Kate Kanne Smith, costume design; Mia Condon, stage manager; Rachel Allen, assistant stage manager; Mollie Abkes, props; Maddie McClure, sound; and Andrea Bogaard, front of house.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for senior citizens and students. Central students, faculty and staff are free with school ID. Tickets are available at events.central.edu. Tickets also are available at the door before each performance.

“A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder” is the first mainstage show of Theatre Central’s 2021-22 season. The next production will be “That Day in Tucson,” directed by Mary Jo Sodd, professor of theater, from Nov. 17-20.
