Central was at Simpson for a soccer doubleheader Wednesday, with the Storm taking the women’s and men’s games by identical 2-1 scores.

In the women’s game, Simpson took a 2-0 halftime lead courtesy of goals by Cassie Nash and Megan Roberts. The Dutch struck for the first and only time in the 69th minute with a Grace Coates goal. Central moves to 7-3-1 overall and 1-1 in American Rivers Conference play. Simpson is now 7-4-1 and 1-1 in league play.

It was a similar storyline in the men’s game, as the Storm took a 2-0 halftime advantage with goals from Jordy Triana-Vasquez and Andrew Russell. A Central goal by Cole Manuel in the 46th minute completed the scoring. Simpson moves to 4-4-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play. Central moves to 2-7 overall and 0-2 in the conference.

Up next, Central will host Loras in a doubleheader Saturday, while Simpson hosts Wartburg Saturday for a doubleheader.
