With the regular season closing soon, the #7 in 1A Pella Christian Eagles are hoping to lock themselves into a home playoff game with a win on the road to Eldon this evening.
The Class 1A District 6 race–barring a major setback loss from #5 in 1A Sigourney-Keota, was more-or-less set when the Cobras toppled Cardinal last week, and the Eagles need a win over those same Comets tonight to maintain strong postseason position and have a chance at a home game.
Unlike many of the more run-heavy attacks the P.C. defense has encountered, Cardinal leans heavily on its aerial assault that has generated 20 touchdowns and a 69% completion rate. Head Coach Rich Kacmarynski believes the matchup should be a good one with the clash of strong team speed on both sides.
The Eagles in particular will be keeping their eye on senior Griffin Greiner and his 14 total offensive touchdowns. Coverage of Pella Christian at Cardinal football begins at 6:30 p.m. on 92.1 KRLS.
