Atlantic set the tone for the game last night with Knoxville by running the first play from scrimmage 53 yards for a touchdown and the Trojans never looked back in a 42-6 win over the Panthers in week seven of the high school football season as heard live on 95.3 KNIA. The Trojans would build the lead to 42-0 by the 4th quarter when Knoxville’s T.J. DeJong scored on a 25 yard run to avert the shutout. The Panthers were able to move the ball a few times, but drives would bog down and the Panthers would have to give the ball back to Atlantic. Coach Eric Kellar told KNIA/KRLS Sports his team needs to be more consistent over the final two weeks of the season for any chance at success.

Kellar: “We did move the ball well at times, but still struggling with consistency. We leave a guy one play and then we fix it for a few plays and average 5 yards a run, we just need to be more consistent every play.”

The Trojans out-gained Knoxville 313-156 as Knoxville was led on the ground by DeJong gaining 63 yards on 14 carries and the score while Hayden Jones had 43 all out effort yards on 11 carries. The Panthers were also bitten once again by the injury bug as quarterback Noah Keefer went down with the same ankle that has plagued him this season. Kellar hopes he is ready to go next week when the Panthers will host ADM in Ken Locke Stadium.
