Warren County rivals meet in Indianola tonight, as the Indians and Warriors volleyball squads match up in a crucial Little Hawkeye Conference clash tonight, with a battle for first in the conference on the line.
The #13 Indians are currently in a three-way tie for first place in conference play at 5-1, and have split with the Warriors in their two matchups this season in tournament play. Senior Lauren Blake tells KNIA Sports she wants Indianola to leave everything on the court.
“We made t-shirts at the beginning of the year that say All In. I think that definitely at the end of the season, that comes into play. That’s what I really want to see, everyone giving it their all. If we don’t, there’s no looking back from here. So I really hope that we just give it our everything.”
Norwalk senior Cate Backstrom tells KNIA Sports the Warriors know the Indians very well at this point, and they will have to play their own game to pick up a win.
“We know they are very tough competition, we’ve played them before in tournaments and scrimmages. And we have to be prepared for anything, they are very vocal and they will be tough competition. But as long as we focus on ourselves and controlling our side of the net, I think we’ll be good.”
First serve is scheduled for 7:15pm.
