A busy week of home matches continues for the Knoxville Volleyball Squad tonight with the final home heads-up match of the season against class 4A #15 Winterset. The Panthers swept Chairton on Tuesday largely dominating sets two and three after going to deuce in set one before pulling out a 28-26 win. Sophomore Brittany Bacorn, who leads the Panthers in kills, assists, and ace serves tells KNIA/KRLS Sports Winterset is a good test going into their home invitational on Saturday and the first round class 4A regional later on with Indianola.
Bacorn:”Wintersets is definitely going to be a great game, and they have a lot of talent, so we’re going to have to figure out how to match their talent while keeping our errors down.”
The Panthers have had some success with ranked opponents this season getting wins over Southeast Warren, Treynor, and St. Albert who were ranked at the time the Panthers won. Knoxville played Winterset earlier in the season at the Atlantic Invitational losing 2-0 by scores of 21-19 and 21-11. Tonight’s match is scheduled to get underway at 7:15.
