knoxville-vs-pella-christian-rivalry-showdown

After three straight runner-up finishes in Saturday invitationals, the Pella Christian Volleyball Squad finally got its elusive title at the Knoxville Invitational. The Eagles went 2-1 in pool play with wins over ADM 2-0, and Union 2-1 while losing to class 1A #5 Holy Trinity 2-1. That advanced the Eagles to the winners bracket where they knocked off Knoxville 2-0 before avenging an earlier loss in the day to Holy Trinity 2-0 to win the championship. Meanwhile, Knoxville rolled through its pool dropping only one set in its opener to Southeast Warren 2-1, then swept both Albia and Iowa Falls before losing in the semi-finals to Pella Christian. Knoxville is now 23-14 and will travel to Indianola Tuesday for the first round of the class 4A regional while Pella Christian is 18-19 and will host East Marshall Monday in the first round of the class 2A regional.
