What started close ended in a runaway finish as the No. 7 ranked Pella volleyball team swept No. 13 Indianola 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-18) in the Class 4A Regional Semifinals Thursday.

A back-and-forth first set featured several lead changes and streaks as the two Little Hawkeye Conference opponents flashed their strengths. A key service run fueled by specialist Katie Pollock and several big swings from the Pella offense flipped momentum in the corner of the home team, and they never looked back. (Full interview with Pollock):

Three Dutch players finished with double digit kills, including Bailey Van Voorst (12), Jasmine Namminga (11), and Meridith Rowe (10). Indianola Senior Lauren Blake finished with nine kills and Lizzie Espenmiller-McGraw added seven.

Pella improves to 29-9 overall, and has a 4th match of the season against No. 6 Oskaloosa Tuesday, with the winner heading to state. Indianola finishes 26-15 and says farewell to four varsity seniors.
