The Marion County Republican Central Committee welcomed conservative blogger Jacob Hall with the Iowa Standard to Smokey Row in Pleasantville Wednesday evening. After sharing his story about what led to the founding of the blog, and asserting that My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell proved that former President Donald Trump won the last presidential election, Hall addressed numerous cultural issues, including abortion, critical race theory, and trans and gay rights. Hall argued that sexual orientation and gender identity should be removed from the Iowa Civil Rights Act, which would allow discrimination against individuals in those classes.
Hall said that political conflicts today aren’t Republicans vs Democrats, but “good versus evil. Politics is spiritual warfare at this point. We don’t need people to be friends with evil. We don’t need that.”
Hall, a Republican, was particularly hard on the Iowa Republican Congressional Delegation–especially Senator Chuck Grassley and Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks for their criticisms of and insufficient support for former President Donald Trump. Governor Kim Reynolds also received a great deal of criticism largely for allegedly violating the constitutional rights of Iowans during the pandemic. Hall said that the real problem for conservatives concerned with the future of America isn’t Democrats, but Republicans in office who won’t follow the Republican platform to implement a conservative agenda despite having control of all three branches of government in Iowa.
