Harlan came in as the #1 ranked team in class 3A against Knoxville last night, and proved it in every way, shape and form as the Cyclones put it to Knoxville 76-0 heard live on 95.3 KNIA. The Panthers started off well enough, with an interception by Jay Kellar, but in what became a theme for the entire game, Knoxville was unable to move the ball against a stout Harlan defense that held the Panthers to -17 yards total offense. Interim Coach Chris Hudson tells KNIA/KRLS Sports Kellar’s pick was a good start, but Harlan’s defense took over and would not allow his team anything.

Hudson: “I’m happy for Jay, he had a good game and I’m happy for all these kids, it started off good enough but didn’t last very long unfortunately.”

Harlan held a 49-0 lead at the halftime break, and played exclusively JV in the second half. Knoxville finishes the season with a 1-8 record and will look to 2022 with a new coach at the helm.
