Unemployment rates declined again locally last month, according to county-by-county data released by Iowa Workforce Development this week.
In Marion County, 2% unemployment was reported in September, down from 2.8% in August. There are 18.450 individuals working, and 389 receiving benefits and seeking work. One year ago, the rate was 3.1% locally.
In Warren County, 2.4% unemployment was reported in September, down from 3.2% in August. The number of employed residents is at 28,200 and 700 individuals are considered unemployed but seeking work. One year ago, the rate was 3.5% locally.
Iowa’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was at 4% last month, down slightly from August and an improvement from 4.2% in 2020.
