Today is one of the biggest mismatches on paper in recent memory American Rivers Conference football action as Central College travels to Decorah to take on Luther.

The Dutch are ranked ninth in the country and have the number one offense in terms of yards per game and number two offense in terms of points scored.  They’re off to a 7-0 start.  Meanwhile, Luther is 0-8 and has been outscored by more than 31 points per game.  Central coach Jeff McMartin says that they haven’t treated this week different than any other week this season.

“Our goal, and things we talk about all week with our team, and what we want our players to embrace, which I think they have so far, is about getting better and improving.  We need to play to our standard and our level.  That’s taking nothing away from Luther, I would say the same thing if we were playing anybody else.  It doesn’t matter who we play in the sense of what our mentality has to be.  It’s about getting better this week.”

Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 in Decorah.  Trevor Castle and Don DeWaard will call the action on 92.1 KRLS, beginning with pregame at 12:35.
