Area Beggars Nights are this weekend. Knoxville’s event will take place Sunday, October 31st from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The City of Pleasantville will also host Beggar’s Night on Sunday, October 31st from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Trick-or-treating will be held in Melcher-Dallas on Sunday, October 31st from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. As part of Halloween festivities, Knoxville Police Chief Aaron Fuller reminds parents to be mindful of the candy children receive, and to make sure it is safe.

“It’s not something we need to worry too much about. But at the same time, we should probably be looking at our children’s candy. Anything that’s not professionally wrapped, anything that isn’t wrapped at all, you probably shouldn’t eat. We don’t need loose candy out there floating around, we need to make sure it’s good and safe.”

Along with Beggars Nights, the Knoxville Area Merchants will host “Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun” today on the downtown square. Kids can trick-or-treat on the square, businesses will have spooky windows, pumpkin decorating contests, and in-store discounts. The event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
