The Pella Christian football program had their season come to a close in the Second Round of the Class 1A playoffs against Dike-New Hartford last week. With the loss, the Eagles had six seniors leave the field as players for the final time at Pella Christian. While those seniors’ high school football careers have come to an end, Head Coach Rich Kacmarynski is thankful for their leadership, and believes they are poised for great things in the future.
“Well, they’re great kids, they’re great leaders. This was a fun, fun team to coach. Great senior leadership and hearts of a champion, and I’m going to miss them. I can’t put into words how much I’m going to miss them. I’m just thankful that the Lord has got something better in store for them post-football, post-high school, but I hope football was a special memory for them and helped them as part of their life preparation.”
The Eagles finished the season with an 8-2 overall record and a 4-1 record in district play.
