Central College strong safety Cameron Bannister has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week. Bannister was cited for his performance in Central’s 56-7 victory over the University of Dubuque Saturday at Pella. He intercepted two passes and made six tackles.

For the year he has 44 tackles, including 16 solos. He has three interceptions and five pass breakups.

Saturday’s win clinched an outright American Rivers title for the Dutch, who have claimed a record 32 conference crowns. It also gives Central the league’s automatic berth in the NCAA Division III playoffs which start Nov. 20. Ranked No. 9 nationally by D3football.com, Central (9-0 overall, 7-0 conference) closes the regular season Saturday at Storm Lake against Buena Vista University.
