Pella City Councilmember Mark DeJong has won a 12th term to the Pella City Council following a recount performed by the Marion County Auditor’s Office.

Marion County Auditor Jake Grandia confirmed to KNIA/KRLS News this afternoon that DeJong maintained his victory following a recount authorized by the Marion County Board of Supervisors at the request of challenger Tony Bokhoven. DeJong gained one vote in the recount. His new term will end on December 31st, 2025.

At-Large Candidates:
Robin Pfalzgraf – 296 – 10.71%
Tony Bokhoven – 994 – 35.98%
Mark De Jong – 1,011 – 36.59%
Alan Pfadenhauer – 454 – 16.43%

A recount requested by Current Ward Three Councilmember Bruce Schiebout will occur on Tuesday. Schiebout lost his seat by two votes on election night:

Bruce Schiebout – 497 – 49.90%
Spencer Carlstone – 499 – 50.10%
