Overton Funeral Home in Indianola held a groundbreaking ceremony for their new expansion Tuesday afternoon. Jeff Peterson with Overton Funeral Home tells KNIA News the expansion will include what has been most requested by families, extra parking.

“With every service that we have, we send out a survey to families and one of the things that always comes back to us is parking, we don’t have enough parking. So that precipitated us purchasing the three lots to the south of the funeral home which we started back in 2008 and getting those torn down. So that in itself was the biggest thing, then working a visitation or service, it’s very difficult with the restrooms, we just needed more space.”

Peterson also said Overton has been serving Indianola since 1927, and looks forward to continuing the relationship with the community.
